Program Analyst Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) (Mid-Level)
Location: NTS Pinewood Facility, Tampa, FL (MacDill AFB)
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Position Overview
Mystic Spear, LLC is seeking a Program Analyst – Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) (Mid-Level) to support program activities involving UAS, autonomous systems, unmanned platforms, payloads, command-and-control technologies, navigation, communications, autonomy, and related enabling technologies.This role requires a strong understanding of the rapidly evolving UAS technology landscape and the ability to work with technical personnel, operators, acquisition professionals, and industry partners to evaluate emerging UAS capabilities and translate operational requirements into executable acquisition strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Program Manager and Senior Analysts in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on UAS program budgets, flight hour costs, and engineering expenditures
Review basic financial reports, subcontractor invoices, and material purchase requests related to drone payloads, spare parts, and ground support equipment
Help prepare recurring financial updates, forecasts, and variance analyses for internal leadership and government stakeholders
Maintain a working knowledge of basic contract concepts, including CLINs, SOWs, deliverables, and contract types such as FFP or T&M
Track and monitor UAS-specific contract deliverables, such as Flight Readiness Reviews (FRRs), technical manuals, maintenance logs, and data item submissions
Coordinate Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), flight test planning sessions, and program reviews
Record comprehensive meeting minutes and track action items to completion
Provide hands-on support for specialized UAS logistics, including tracking, shipping, and receiving launch/recovery systems and payloads
Assist in developing program documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), briefing slides, and status reports
Assist with physical inventory audits of drone components, maintenance toolkits, and replacement parts, ensuring proper handling, tagging, and asset disposition
Required Qualifications
Fluency in English, written and spoken
2+ years of demonstrated financial understanding, preferably supporting the Department of War (DoW), with a basic understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, financial reconciliation, and resource allocation
3+ years of professional experience in a program analysis or business operations role within the defense contracting, aerospace, or aviation industry
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Aerospace Management, or a related field; relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree
Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
UAS/drone experience is highly preferred
Security Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
